On this page, we answer some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) we hear. Of course, if you have specific questions not covered here, please contact us for more information. We’ll be happy to help.
What are the maximum dimensions (thickness, length and width) of Belt Technologies’ PureSteel® metal belts?
Belt Technologies can produce stainless steel belts in thicknesses between 0.001 inch to 0.035 inch. There is no limit for belt length. Width can vary anywhere between 0.040 inch and 35 inches or more, as required by customer designs. These dimensions apply to all PureSteel® belt types, including coated metal belts, perforated belts, heat sealing belts and vacuum conveyor belts.
What is the maximum number of cycles for stainless steel conveyor belts? How long should my belt last?
Our sales engineers assist customers with countless applications that have belt life cycles into the millions. PureSteel® belts’ lifespans vary based on factors such as the ratio of the pulley diameter to belt thickness, stress and belt design.
What are the minimum and maximum dimensions for pulleys?
We can produce PureSteel® pulleys of virtually any size, as specified by customer design requirements.
What belt materials are available? Which belt is best for my application?
Belt Technologies can provide metal conveyor belts made from virtually any stainless steel alloy. We can also provide various surface coatings and treatments to maximize the desired traits for the belt surface, such as release properties, temperature resistance and more.
Our engineers will suggest the right PureSteel® belt for your application using our industry knowledge and best practices.
Can PureSteel® belts be purchased individually?
Yes. Whether you require one belt, 100 or a complete system, we can produce it to your exact specifications, including attachments, surface treatments or coatings, perforation patterns and more custom factors.
What are the maximum high/low temperatures for belts?
Stainless steel has a very high resistance to extreme temperatures. We detail the exact ranges in this chart. Contact our engineers to help determine the best alloy for your specific application.
What is the maximum torque for PureSteel® stainless steel conveyor belts?
Torque is determined by the size of the belt. A very large belt will be able to handle more torque than a small, thin belt. Contact our engineers for specific information regarding your desired product and application.
Does Belt Technologies provide MTR (material test reports) for products?
Yes, we can provide MTRs upon customer request.
Does Belt Technologies supply drive motors and other components?
Yes, we can provide drive motors as part of a PureSteel® stainless steel conveyor belt system or replacement drive motors for existing stainless steel conveyor belt systems. Our sales engineers can also specify other components, such as specialized tracking pulleys and controls.
